Or rather, sixty to (almost) zero...
Yesterday was a stunningly beautiful day here in Madison. I went to my yoga class in just my yoga gear - no extra clothes - and went shopping without a jacket. The rain came later in the day, but the morning was full of sunshine and the scent of spring.
Fast forward 24 hours and the ground is covered in snow, there's more falling from the sky, and the temperature has been steadily dropping since midnight. With all the rain we've seen in the past couple of days there's a solid layer of ice under all the snow, which makes driving (or walking for that matter) a bundle of laughs. When I left for yoga tonight, I found that my car doors are frozen shut, and I'm plowed in. Luckily, my new job doesn't start until the 11th - yes, it got pushed back another week - so I should be okay to just hang out in the apartment for the next couple of days, all bundled up under blankets.
Gotta love the mid-West people!!
Why Blog?
I'm a 22 year college graduate, documenting the things in my life that I want to always remember. The big things, the little things, the crazy things, the everyday things. It gets a bit random at times, and sometimes I like to ponder on the craziness of life. There's nothing earth-shattering here, but I like to think it's all fun to read. Read, leave me comments, ask questions, enjoy.

Adventures in Hot Yoga
Awhile back I got a free pass to attend a hot yoga class and loved it. Hot yoga is a little different than regular yoga in that the classroom ranges from 90 to 105 degrees, depending on the class, but I love how the heat allows me to stretch deeper and relax more. I made a deal with myself that I would sign up for a membership when I got a job....
My new job starts on Monday (yay!!) and after my intense CrossFit workout on Saturday, I decided that the time had come for me to activate a membership. I attended my first class Sunday night, and have been every day since. I've checked out a few different classes, and each one has provided me with different challenges.
Sunday's class was super relaxing, and helped my aching muscles - I could barely move when I woke up Sunday morning - immensely. Yesterday's class was a little more of a challenge; it involved more of a strength component and a lot more balancing came in to play. Tonight's class was absolutely brutal... the room was 105 degrees, and I'm pretty sure I sweated out at least 10 pounds. I was sweating from places that I didn't even know I could sweat from!!
Hopefully I'll stick with my plan of going to yoga every day in order to get the most out of my membership. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm thinking it'll be worth it, especially after I start going to CrossFit regularly.
Wish me luck!
